Dear MKE Alumni:
The Alumni Association of the Master of Arts in International Trade and Development Cooperation and The Graduate School of Pan-Pacific International Studies(GSP) of Kyung Hee University would like to invite you to the international conference “San Jose, Costa Rica 2011 A New Generation of Investment: A Search for Partnership and Prosperity”
The conference will provide an important platform to exchange views on International Relations, and Trans-Pacific International Development and Investment, by bringing together academics, practitioners, government officials and business people.
This conference is mainly an initiative of the MKE Alumni Association supported by GSP to celebrate the Third International Meeting of MKE Global Alumni.
Time: Sunday 06 to Tuesday 08 February, 2011
Venue: University of Costa Rica (http://www.ucr.ac.cr/)
Here is some important information for conference participants. READ CAREFULLY. Your cooperation will be highly appreciated.
1. Financial support: As all of you know, our Association does not have any internal funds that we can make use of, and therefore we just exist with the personal support of our members, GSP professors and extra funding from KOICA. In the spirit of wanting to make this Third International Meeting a reality, we call for the help and understanding of all and each member of the MKE family, and show our commitment to build a true professional network, despite our financial shortcoming.
Airfare: Due to restrictions in the use of our budget, we will allocate up to US$300 per participant (and US$200 in the case of those coming from Central America), to help you pay for your flight ticket, and the rest will be given as part of the payment for paper submission.
Paper Submission: You all are encouraged to submit a paper related to the conference topic. We will offer up to US$400 per paper presented. Because this is actually part of the airfare support, we’ll allocate the money according to each participant’s needs. That is, if you are able to pay by yourself or through your working institution the total amount of your travel expenses, you still might present your paper although no subsidy will be paid.
We want to further stress in this point: because our budget is limited, those of you that can pay the totally or most of your travel expenses, will help us maximize our funds, and will become direct collaborators to the realization of our Conference.
Upon your arrival to Costa Rica, please present the original copy of your air travel receipt and boarding pass.
2. All the participants must come to the Welcoming Dinner venue (Residence of Mr. Ambassador of Korea to Costa Rica… exact address will be provided later) by 18:30 pm on Sunday 06..
3. On 06, 07 and 08 FEB, lunch (Conference Invitees) and dinner (exclusively for MKE) will be provided.
5. As for the hotel and travel schedule, please keep exchange information and views with Costa Rican friends (Mariela Castro mcastroavila@gmail.com and Ricardo Montero ricardomonterolopez@gmail.com).
